Paschal lamb and Chartreux's wines, the perfect parings...

A melt and savory meat marked with very strong flavors? Perfect, our region makes wonderful wines with great personality! Lirac, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes-du-Rhône…There some very interesting designations to find at the Cellier des Chartreux.
With the Domaine des Colombettes, our robust and generous Lirac, the pairing will be perfect. An old millesimal ample and full.

With its spices and wood aromas the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Domaine Saint Aymése will perfectly complement a lamb meat dish and will enhance its flavor.
Your leg of lamb will nicely pare with the Saint-Vérédème. This Côtes-du-Rhône Villages offers a powerful mouth with sipes and black fruits aromas. Its tannins are blending with red fruits aromas at the finish.

The Chevalier d’Anthelme, a Côtes-du-Rhône with blended tannins as well will be an excellent choice in order to enhance your dishes. Its candied spicy and peppery notes will smooth the strong lamb flavor.

And to conclude, why don't you try a Tavel ? A great pairing with the Domaine Les Hautes Roches, an intense wine full of aromas. With thyme or garlic, pairing could only be better.
You have now understood, to complement a leg of lamb, those great and powerful wines will be the perfect pairing. If you want an other advice the older ones. They would be smoother and will perfectcly goes with the lamb flavors. So Happy Easter and enjoy your tasting!
